Not often one gets to say that – but we do! Last week we were privileged to travel to Sofia, Bulgaria to visit SAP Labs. SAP’s offices there handle much of the development work for the HANA Cloud Platform (HCP). We were invited to the Lab along with others from the SAP Partner Advisory Council for Innovation (of which Macromicro is a member) and the Customer Advisory Council for Innovation.

Over the course of three intense days, we were able to to get an insight into much of the important work being done by SAP Labs Bulgaria on HCP, undertake a Design Thinking training course with SAP instructors, conduct the Innovation Council by bi-annual meeting and conduct invaluable networking. The experience was exceptional, from the warm reception given by SAP Bulgaria to the content and training provided over our three-day stay.

traveledFor those of you who have not travelled to a country off the beaten path such as Bulgaria – we would highly recommend it from our stay there. Sofia has a number of charms, the food is good and the Bulgarians are very welcoming. Thank you SAP Bulgaria.

For those in the SAP SuccessFactors ecosystem, last week was all about SuccessConnect2016 in Las Vegas. From Monday through Thursday the Venetian was a beehive of activity bringing together over 4000 attendees to discover what is now possible with SuccessFactors.

We were one of the many SAP partners with a show presence, and had the opportunity to highlight our work through a number of presentations. First, at a special Partners Briefing Session to discuss some of the many advantages of developing an Extension for SuccessFactors and working on the HANA Cloud Platform, and second to a crowd of invite only SAP customers who had come to learn more about the many ways to extend SuccessFactors through offerings like Macromciro OrgInsight.

One of the driving themes of this year’s show was diversity and inclusiveness in HR. This was a message driven from the top down from SAP President Bill McDermott to SuccessFactors President Mike Ettling and SAP North America President Jennifer Morgan. It’s also one of our core use cases, as understanding the distribution of employees across hierarchy, or cross cut by attribute is exactly what we do!

The course will be given over the 15-19th of August, with Harri presenting on the 19th.

Wow, what a week. From Monday starting with the SAP Partner Summit, then on to the show floor for three days at SAP Sapphire Now, and ending with a Cold Play concert sitting in the 12th row, it was as busy as it gets.Somewhere in there we also managed to collect our SAP Pinnacle Award for Application Partner of the Year!

It was an honor to to be recognized alongside other giants of the IT world (Hewlett Packard, IBM, Accenture to name a few) for our work on SAP HANA Cloud Platform (HCP).As an organization we started our journey with SAP HCP almost two years ago, and we felt confident that we made the right choice to build Macromicro OrgInsight (organizational mapping and analytics) as a native HCP application.

Spending time at Sapphire reaffirmed that we had made the right choice. Everyone at SAP, from Hasso Plattner (Chairman) and Bill McDermott (CEO) on down helped to highlight the future of HANA and the cloud with SAP.

Wow. Just Wow. All of us here at Macromicro are honored and excited to have won this year’s SAP Pinnacle award for Application Development Partner of the Year. We are a start-up, and all of us have toiled hard over that past couple years, keeping our heads down concentrating on our product and our customers, so it comes as a huge affirmation of our time and effort spent to win such a prestigious award.

We started our journey with SAP about two years ago, first through the SAP Startup Focus program, then on to PartnerEdge. At each step of the way we know we had the right choice in SAP – and specifically in the HANA Could Platform (HCP) and it’s ecosystem. With HCP we are able to push the boundaries of innovation, by focusing on what we do best, front end visualization of complex data, while leveraging HANA and it’s in-memory capabilities to do the heavy lifting on the back end. We are really excited to be part of the SAP ecosystem and to continue pushing forward with our never ending list of development ideas.

Macromicro Co-Founder and President, Brad Peterson, was part of a panel on Workforce Planning, held at the fall forum of the Health Management Academy in Deer Vally, Utah October 27th. The panel provided insights on Workforce Planning to forum members, both Chief Human Resource Officers (CHROs) and Chief Nursing Officers (CNOs).

Mr. Peterson presented Macromicro’s visual workforce application OrgInsight and discussed some of the challenges around collecting relevant workforce data and providing access to such data to a wide verity of managers. Mr. Peterson followed Tony Bohn (Chief Human Resource Officer, Norton Healthcare), and Tracy Williams (Chief Nursing Officer, Norton Healthcare) who discussed recruiting, retention and attrition issues across the nursing population at Norton Healthcare, as well as their workforce management systems.

What a great week for Macromicro in Las Vegas! Believe it or not, Brad and I were there on business for our third time at the HR Tech show and our FIRST time at SAP’s TechEd Show. We were bummed our CDO, Alex could not make it all the way from Doha, Qatar. We certainly missed our CTO, Harri, presence but felt his force by making sure OrgInsight 2.0 on SAP HANA Cloud Platform performed perfectly.

Brad and I didn’t spend much time together as there were lots of opportunities to meet interested folks in Vegas. We had our own booth plus Brad was showcasing OrgInsight at SAP’s SuccessFactors booth as well. Thanks for the support at HR Tech, SAP and SuccessFactors!

Specifically, we were also fortunate enough to be one of two (!) startups that were featured at SAP’s innovation summit at TechEd and one of seven participating at SAP’s TechEd.In fact, I was privileged to participate in a short interview on SAP TechEd’s Live Studio. As many of you know, Macromicro has been working diligently through sapstartuppartner the final phases of the SAP Startup Focus Program (SFP). We are proud to announce our HR Analytics data visualization service was validated in Q4 of 2014. SAP has graciously welcomed us into the SAP SFP family on their SFP blog.Although OrgInsight was soft-launched on SAP HANA last fall, completing this process will allow Macromicro prospects, customers, and partners to soon purchase an OrgInsight subscription on the SAP-hosted in-memory SAP HANA platform.

SAP’s Emily Breslin explains the SAP SFP process:“Throughout the year, the [SAP’] Value Engineering [VE] team enables startups to identify, realize, and communicate the value of their HANA-based solutions to customers.
